      This small piece of compatibility code makes all the difference when purchasing a third-party transceiver from a company like Simnet as it is this code when programmed correctly that is read, recognized, and approved by the vendor\/OEM device the optic is plugged into.<\/p>

While OEM\u2019s warranties do not cover third-party optics, the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act prohibits them from revoking warranty support on their equipment due to the use of third-party optics. A great way to understand this is using a car: Let\u2019s say you own a Mercedes. The battery then begins to fail so you purchase an unbranded yet high quality battery for your car. A year or two later you notice you need a new starter motor. Mercedes engineers notice you don\u2019t have their branded battery.
